Teeth Extractions in Schertz
Saving your teeth will always be our top priority. But sometimes a tooth extraction may be what’s best for your oral health. If that’s the case, we’ll make sure it is as painless and stress-free as possible.
Our first instinct will always be to save your tooth, whether that’s through a filling, a crown or something else. Sometimes these methods aren’t enough though, as teeth can become decayed or broken beyond repair. If that’s the case, we’ll pull the tooth before it becomes detrimental to your oral health. At Randolph Family Dental, we are committed to providing a comfortable and stress-free environment for a tooth extraction in Schertz. We offer spa services, music, warm, scented towels, blankets and pillows, and flat-screen TVs in every patient room.
Our tooth extractions begin with X-rays. The images from your X-rays will allow our dentists to figure out the safest and most effective way to extract your tooth. After that, we’ll numb the area of the tooth extraction through a local anesthetic. If you’re still feeling anxious or stressed, we also offer laughing gas and oral sedation. Once you’re comfortable and the area is numb, we’ll remove the tooth using special tools. The actual removal only lasts a couple of seconds, and you won’t feel anything except a bit of pressure.
The most important part of the recovery is to let the blood clot form, and then maintain it. The inside of the mouth is hard to keep dry enough to let wounds heal, so our dentist will have you bite down on a gauze pad for 20 to 30 minutes. The pressure from your bite on the gauze will let the blood clot form. While you’re recovering, you should try to stay away from hot and chewy foods. If necessary, you can press an ice pack to the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling.
